Suffolk Historic Churches Ride & Stride – Snape results
This year the team of riders and supporters for Snape raised the superb total of £1,055 — the largest since 2010, made up as follows:
We are most grateful to our riders, sponsors, donors and all who supported this important event to raise funds for the maintenance of our historic church. I also wish to express appreciation to our team of receptionist/recorders in St John the Baptist Church between 9am and 5pm to welcome visitors who were cycling for the same cause.
Half of the £1,055 will be returned promptly to Snape Church to assist in the cost of maintaining the building. I should stress we have been awarded £5,000 by Suffolk Historic Churches Trust towards our toilet project which we hope will start later this year or early in 2022.
For those keen cyclists out there we hope you will join the event next year and help to raise another useful sum.
Once again many thanks to all of you who have supported us this year, it is very much appreciated.

John Swann says he will be cycling for us again, and this year we have another rider in Greg Spray. They would both much appreciate your support — by sponsorship or even by riding with them! You are welcome to contact me, Snape's local organiser, for further information.
Best wishes and stay safe, Brian

POSTED ON 12th JULY
The Suffolk Historic Churches Trust Ride & Stride takes place this year on Saturday 11th September between 9am and 5pm. Last year our Area raised more funds for the SHCT than any other of the 20 Suffolk Areas – so hearty congratulations to all of you. It would be fabulous to achieve this amazing goal again in providing financial support to our wonderful Suffolk churches, Chapels and Meeting Houses through the SHCT.
We'll hopefully have minimal restrictions to our movements, and meeting others, but please:
● Follow the Government guidance on Covid-19 prevailing at the time
● Some churches may not be open, or there is no one to welcome you – just sign your
sponsorship form. If a register is present at the church – sign your name
● Take you own pen
● It is unlikely there will be refreshments, so please take your own
● Toilets may not be available
● If you enter a church, touch as little as possible
● Take hand sanitizer
● Remember the Highway Code, and use lanes and minor roads where possible.
For a yellow Sponsorship form and list of participating churches and chapels, please contact Snape's local organiser for St John the Baptist Church — Brian Boulton on ☏01728 688 999
Enjoy your day, whether cycling, using an electric bicycle or walking but, please, keep safe.
