What a fabulous turn out this morning for our November Coffee Morning — it had such a Christmas feel! I must say huge congratulations to Mel and Jasmine (and, of course, Blossom) for making £131.40 on the bric-a-brac table — excellent!!! The tables looked great, with so many beautiful Christmas decorations. Thanks, all you helpers, for your hard work this morning — much appreciated!!.
There was such a huge turn-out of locals and visiting guests. Mary, once again, donated wonderful hampers for the raffle table along with Geraldine donating two beautiful plants. Overall the Raffle table was full of thoughtful gifts.
The total amount for the morning came to £302.00, which is going towards new electric elements, much needed to keep the hall warm.
Please feel free to come along to our Coffee Mornings.
It's a place to meet up with friends, and to make new friends.
Next month is our Christmas celebration with tea, coffee and mince pies.
Donations are always welcome to our bric-a-brac table, and gifts for the Raffle.
Thank you to all that support Snape Village Hall.
Do come along on Thursday, 12th December from 10 to 11.30.

CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS NEEDED
We will be having a festive banquet of Christmas STUFF, for our November Village Hall Coffee Morning, on the 14th. So, if you have any unwanted Christmas decorations, unwanted Christmas gifts or books, then please pass them on to me for our November Coffee Morning sale, taking place on Thursday 14th November from 10:00am to 11:30. I am happy to collect.
Many thanks, Mel Thurston

It was so nice to be back involved in the Coffee Morning after some time away. I must start by thanking all my colleagues who covered for me over the past few months, the support has been overwhelming.
It's a shame the weather has now changed, but residents and visitors came along for a chat and catch up with friends. There were fewer people this month, but we made £162 which all helps towards the various things needed to maintain the Village Hall.
We continue to receive donations to the bric a brac and raffle, all very much needed and appreciated, thank you. Our November Coffee Morning will be a special Christmas theme for the bric-a-brac table. Any decorations etc which are no longer needed are welcomed.
We welcome anyone wishing to volunteer for the Coffee Mornings and other activities within the Village Hall — please do contact me if you are interested in being part of Snape village.
The next Coffee Morning is on the 14th November from 10:00am to 11:30 — all are welcome.

Our Village Hall continues to thrive, although a few more Trustees would be useful. Anyone interested in this very rewarding position? Contact the Chair, Caroline Salisbury.
We have a had a busy month with the Parish Council hosting refreshments for the Tour of Britain cycle race (outside and inside the Hall), a car boot sale at Friday Street that made £232 profit (thank you everyone for your donations), and our monthly Coffee Morning which was well attended. A pity we had to be indoors as Thursday was quite chilly, but probably just as well as many of our trusted volunteers who help erect and dismantle the gazebos were unwell or on holiday. A few new folks came which was good, and there was much banter and chatting. Proceeds were £211 so a good month overall. It all keeps the roof on!!! Look forward to seeing you all on October 10th at 10:00am.
Thanks to all the volunteers who make these events possible.

August is a quieter place during the summer holidays, and some classes have a break. However, our Coffee Mornings continue and thrive, and the weather was kind to us. We filled three gazebos with friendly chatting folks — a pleasant morning for us all.
As usual, Mel’s ‘Shop’ attracted a lot of interest, and made well over £100. Good result, Mel! Many thanks to all who donated bric-a-brac. With the addition of the Raffle etc, we made over £200 to assist with Hall costs.
Thank you to all volunteers who helped, people who came and enjoyed the company, and especially the weather which co-operated.
See you next month, September 12th at 10:00am.

Best wishes to our Chair who has had her operation and is recovering well — see you soon.
We had a well-attended and bustling July coffee morning — but where was the Sun to sit outside in our Gazebos, so much pleasanter on a summer’s day? Many of you may recall the Flanders and Swann song,
"In July the sun is hot — Is it shining? No it’s NOT."
Very apt!! In spite of that, we enjoyed the morning and also raised over £190 for the hall maintenance.
We look forward to seeing you all again in August — fingers and toes crossed we may have some sunshine to enjoy, but don’t hold your breath. I hope we do not follow the next line in the Flanders and Swann song,
"August cold and dank and wet — brings more rain than any yet."
See you all on Thursday, 8th August (the second Thursday of the month).
Thanks again to all,
Mary Wylie (on behalf of the Chair)

UPDATED ON SATURDAY, 29th JUNE

Our Coffee Morning, on the 13th of this month, was held under a bright blue sky — how lucky was that!! Our gazebos were in use to protect us from the sun and, although many regulars were away, we all had a good chat catching up with friends and neighbours. As usual, our Bric-a-brac and Raffle made some money (£152.00) to 'keep the roof on', augmented by the bits and bobs sold in between Coffee Mornings on eBay and Vintage Cash Cow. Our thanks to all who helped/attended/donated to make the morning so pleasant.
Next Coffee Morning is on 11th July at 10:00am in the Hall. See you all there!!!

Another month has rushed by and another wonderful Coffee Morning.
The weather was kind, and we had the first of our summer coffee mornings — al fresco, making a party atmosphere. Thank you all for coming, donating bric-a-brac, flowers and raffle prizes and helping to make our coffee mornings an anticipated event in the village. The proceeds of £371 also help ‘keep the roof on the hall’.

Thank you also to all those who supported our table-top Grand Bric-a-brac Sale, which will have raised around £500 once all the proceeds from the day, the Auction and Vintage Cash Cow are in. A big, big thanks to all who made this so successful. We couldn’t have done it without all the people who work quietly behind the scenes.
Our next Coffee Morning will be on Thursday June 13th, and we look forward to seeing you all there again.

UPDATED, FRIDAY 12th APRIL

Thankfully we are now in Spring — although the weather was still a little nippy yesterday, we were able to have the doors open at our Coffee Morning.
As it was still the Easter break, we did have a fair number of residents enjoying the usual hospitality, chats and raffle prizes. The hampers donated to the Raffle were amazing — so thank you to those who bought them along!
We raised £158 — all to go to the hall’s maintenance.
An issue that came up on the morning was the mobile post office. Paul Richards (Chair of the Parish Council) and myself have been very vocal with The Post Office regarding our objections. Some feedback from those wishing to use the ‘service’ have found it very difficult to navigate. A local resident who has sight impairment was left stressed by the whole ordeal, and another with significant mobility issues unable to access at all. Others have also found the whole system unfriendly for accessing. I shall be forwarding the complaints to The Post Office — watch this space! [also this space! — Webmaster]
We have a Grand Sale of Bric-a-Brac and Collectables on the 20th of April, sited in front of the Village Hall.
On the 30th of June is the Open Gardens — which we hope will be taken advantage of and enjoyed.
We look forward to seeing everyone at our next Coffee Morning on the 9th of May. Again, any bric-a-brac is much appreciated, along with donations to the Raffle.

Don't forget, too, that we have another Grand Bric-a-brac Sale on Saturday week, 20th April from 10am to 1pm, all in aid of the Village Hall — for further details contact Mel or Mary W.

We had a pre-Easter Coffee Morning on March 14th which was lovely with a wonderful raffle, thanks to the donations of Easter bunnies and many offerings of chocolates.
Again, the local residents enjoyed the raffle and the amount of new bric-a-brac on offer — always very welcome. Mel (who organises the bric-a-brac and shop) once more made everything look 'buy me', made a good amount for the hall.
Mary, our eBay go-to, has done a fabulous job selling donations which contribute to ensure we maintain the Village Hall and its activities.
There was one subject on resident's minds, and that was the closure of the Post Office, which (from 27th March) will now be a mobile unit on Wednesdays between 13:45 and 15:45. Of course, this is not popular, but we are still trying to engage with The Post Office on this subject — hopefully 'watch this space'.
We made a good amount this month — £310 — incredible!! We look forward to greeting locals and anyone who would like to pop in for a coffee and enjoy the raffle. Only £1.00 entry for tea/coffee and biscuits, and £1.00 a strip for the raffle.
We look forward to welcoming all that want to meet and chat.

The first Coffee Morning of 2024 was a real success. Although a cold day, the turnout was fantastic. Once again, the raffle was fun and saw some wonderful hampers made up as part of the prizes on offer. Thank you to all those who donated gifts and bric a brac. The morning made £179 which is so welcome.
Thanks to all the volunteers and residents who make the morning so special! We are always looking for new members of the community to offer their time as part of the Management Committee and Village Hall developments. If you are interested, please do contact me.
As always donations are welcome for the raffle and bric-a-brac. Our next session will be on 8th February.
The Annual General Meeting will be held in April — I will post the actual date next month, but this is a time for you all to attend, and bring your thoughts and ideas for discussion.
Have a great 2024!
