A very Happy New Year to all those who visit the website, and our amazing Snape residents!
Today, we had our Christmas Coffee Morning, which was attended by so many locals. The bric-a-brac tables were full of more Christmas decorations and pre-loved presents to buy, and well received again by those who came along.

A huge thank you to Neville, who donated two bird tables and a wheelbarrow (with Christmas decorations in it) — handmade, solid, and beautiful in design. They went through our morning’s auction which was fun, and added to the monies raised for the hall. Stella made a wonderful Christmas cake, which was part of a separate raffle — and our usual raffle (with such wonderful gifts) helped to raise £320. In addition to that, Mary’s magic on eBay further raised another £35. Just perfect to then see where the monies can be used to further the developments of the hall.
Thanks to all the volunteers who help to make the mornings enjoyable, fun and a space to meet up with friends.
Our next Coffee Morning is on 11th January 2024, from 10 to 11.30. All donations for the bric-a-brac tables are very welcome, as are any raffle prizes you wish to donate.
Don’t forget, we have lots of activities for people to join — just check our webpages, and see what classes and groups are on offer.
Happy New Year!

Our Coffee Mornings go from strength to strength each month. The 9th November was no exception, and all residents enjoyed the pre-Christmas vibe. Our bric a brac organiser (Mel) did an amazing job of decorating the tables with Christmas decorations and more, for sale. As a result, her work made £99 to add to the entry and raffle donations. Overall, we made £225 for the village hall which was a fabulous amount! Further to that we held an antiques and collectables sale on the 28th October which culminated in £474 to further the maintenance of the hall. None of this would be possible without the help and support of volunteers – for which we are very grateful! So, a big thank you to them!
The Coffee Morning was a huge success and there was a buzz about the place and everyone enjoying the time together. Having recently experienced such awful weather it was lovely for everyone to relax and meet up with friends.

A change to the weather bought the Coffee Morning inside with a chilly feel to the day. However, we still invited many residents to enjoy coffee/tea and biscuits, and time to chat. We also welcomed three visitors who were visiting Snape and enjoyed the vibrant feel to the hall.
As usual we had an array of Bric-a-brac (very popular), and the amazing Raffle prizes donated by residents. One local family even donated a large amount of household items for us to put in the Bric-a-brac stall, the Raffle and for us to sell via the auction house. A brilliant opportunity to increase funds for the maintenance of the hall — a very big thank you! Geraldine, once again, donated many cut flowers which were extremely fragrant and popular. On a wet and chilly morning, we were still able to raise £168, which is fantastic.
On the 28th of October, we are running a Bric-a-brac & Collectables Sale at the Village Hall (10am – 2pm) everyone is welcome!
Our next Coffee Morning is on the 9th of November, and we look forward to seeing our locals and others who might like to pop in for a coffee and chat.
Any donations for the Bric-a-brac and Raffle always welcome. Thanks to all the volunteers who make the morning such a success!

A pleasantly warm September day was the perfect backdrop to this month’s Coffee Morning yesterday. Friends sat outside under the gazebos, enjoying each others’ company, and exchanging news and stories. There was a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Thanks as always to Mel for running the bric-a-brac, to Caroline for her flair with the raffle, to Mary and Janet for their constant support, and to Tim for his expertise in the kitchen! Thank you also for your generosity — we raised £180. The whole event, I thought, epitomised all that is special about the village — friendliness, mutual support, and willingness to volunteer and help. Thank you for coming, and we look forward to seeing you all next month on the 12th of October.

It was a perfect day on the 10th of August for the Coffee Morning. Warm sunshine meant we could hold the morning in the gazebos (first time for such a long while) — Summer had arrived!
We had a speaker from HSBC, George Hemstock, talking about the current issues with sςams and fraudsters. The talk was very well received, was useful and informative to the many who joined the Coffee Morning, with members of MUM (Meet Up Mondays) making for a very busy and enjoyable morning.
Thanks to all for coming along, and a big thank you to all the volunteers who make the morning such a success. The raffle prizes were outstanding and much appreciated to those lucky enough to get a win — only £1 for a strip and £1 entry to enjoy the company and as much tea/coffee and biscuits you can manage.
This month we made £218 to go towards the Village Hall. All Bric-a-brac welcome, as are donations to the Raffle. Thank you to all who contribute — we appreciate this so much!
The next Coffee Morning is on 14th September. We look forward to seeing everyone, new and old, next month.

What a fabulous Coffee Morning! A brilliant turnout and a real buzz to the morning. Everyone chatting away and enjoying the company – in particular the raffle! The prizes, donated by local residents, were absolutely lovely and well worth the £1 per ticket. Caroline [Beach] once again ensured the raffle was fun, thank you to all those who contributed to the raffle!
The Meet Up Mondays team once again ensured there was lots of tea and coffee (and biscuits) available. With the-Bric-a-brac, entry, raffle-tickets and money made on books which we have in the lobby, we made £207. We really appreciate any Bric-a-brac donated to the event, as this is a welcome part of the morning – things you don’t need/want anymore are things that others would enjoy – all your donations are so welcome.
The Coffee Morning is so well attended and enjoyed – it makes for such a safe and relaxed event for all residents, in addition to anyone visiting the area.
The next Coffee Morning is on 10th August, from 10am to 11:30. We look forward to seeing you all there.
Thank you,

A wonderful Coffee Morning was enjoyed by many on Thursday. There was a real buzz of conversation and laughter, as people shared stories and caught up on each other’s news. The raffle was well stocked and, thanks to those of you who bought tickets, we made £226! A huge success. A special thank-you to Geraldine for her beautiful flowers, to the Snape Good Neighbours for providing coffee and biscuits, to Mel for running the bric-a-brac so effectively, and to Caroline for once again running the raffle with aplomb!
Most of all though, thank you to everyone for coming and making it such a success.

Our Coffee Morning welcomed guests on a warm day (rain was due) so it was nice to be able to have the doors open. Not yet warm enough for the gazebos — hopefully we can use them next month — weather permitting.
With the help of our volunteers, the morning was set up and ready for a good turn-out. This meant we made £202 for the Village Hall, thanks so much to the members who bought raffle tickets and bric a brac! Thanks to those who contributed raffle prizes for the table — so much appreciated!! A big thank you to Geraldine for the lovely, fragrant flowers that sold within minutes. Once again, the Snape Good Neighbours team were in the kitchen with tea and coffee — thank you to the team for their continued support.
The Coronation celebrations were enjoyed on the 6th at Snape Church — rather cold and wet, but very much enjoyed by a huge number of residents who attended.
The next Coffee Morning is on the 8th of June, from 10am to 11:30 — all are welcome.
Thank you,

We had an excellent turn-out for the Coffee Morning yesterday — so lovely to see familiar faces and some new faces.
We had the opportunity to thank Janet, Peter, Mary and Mike for all their hard work over the years. This was something welcomed by local residents, who have know them for some years. They haven’t gone away, just stepping down from the Committee.
The morning’s event made £226, which goes towards the Village Hall maintenance — thank you everyone.
We are actively looking for new members for the Committee, and helpers, to manage the hall and support the village — if you are interested, please do make contact. As the new Chair, I look forward to continuing the excellent work undertaken by so many.
The next Coffee Morning is on the 11th May, from 10 until 11.30 — we look forward to seeing you all there.

This month's coffee morning will be on Thursday April 13th at 10am as usual.
I am writing on behalf of many people who regularly use Snape Village Hall to express our heartfelt thanks to Mary Wyllie, Janet and Peter Bunn, and Mike Hill for all their support and commitment to the hall over numerous years! Mary, Janet and Mike are retiring from the Committee this month. They have all worked tirelessly to help improve the hall, and make it the popular venue it is today! Although Peter has not been on the Committee, he has been roped in for all sorts of jobs thanks to Janet! They will be much missed, but have definitely earned their retirement!
I am sure they will all continue to support the hall, and we will see them at the regular monthly Coffee Mornings! Thank you to all of you from all of us!!

As this is my last update for the hall, I would like to thank everyone for their support whilst I have been temporary chairman.
Temporary has been rather a longer time than we envisaged but at last a new chairperson will be installed at our AGM on April 3rd.
We had a brilliant well attended coffee morning in March. We also took £230 for the hall.
Next month's coffee morning will be on Thursday April 13th at 10am as usual. See you all there. It may even be warm enough to have the gazebos up and enjoy a garden coffee morning.
I also want to record the debt Snape owes to Janet and Peter Bunn who have watched over the hall, done bookings and repairs and a million other little (and large) jobs that we all take for granted for the last 10 years. Thank you both, you will be a difficult act to follow.
Mike Hill also has given at least 10 years of his time and has retired recently. Thanks Mike for your time and meticulous organising of our books we have for sale.
Lastly farewell to me though I will be doing some fundraising as needed as long as I am able.
UPDATED ON WEDNESDAY, 1st MARCH — Next coffee morning is on Thursday, 9th March. See you all there!
UPDATED ON THURSDAY, 9th FEBRUARY

We now have all our committee posts in place, so thank you for your support. They will be formally appointed at the next AGM (on 3rd April). A couple more committee members would be useful, so if you think you would like to join us we would be happy to hear from you.
The February Coffee Morning today was well attended and very lively. We seem to get more and more people each month. Over the years it has become a regular event on the Snape calendar.
Any items for the bric-a-brac are always welcome, as we all enjoy looking and buying.
Notice of AGM 2023
Our AGM will be on 3rd April at 5pm in the Village Hall.

but we still made a healthy profit of £126 — many thanks for all your efforts.
We look forward to seeing everybody in February.
It will be nice when we can get the gazebos out again — it makes a lovely atmosphere.
