In answer to a local resident's letter, the issue of cycling on Snape's footpaths was discussed at last night's Parish Council meeting. Councillors were reminded that many of our foot-paths cross private land — even though the paths themselves are public rights of way. Property owners have the right to define usage of such paths, including disallowing the riding of horses or cycles, both of which can of course damage the path surface. Consequently, "No cycling" signs were raised some months ago. |
