THE latest position on the onshore electrical transmission infrastructure (cable trenches, pylon reinforcements, large sub-station buildings, etc.) is that Judicial Reviews are underway — but indications are that Government and Industry are planning for this area to host a so-called "super-hub". As you know, this will be a major blight on the area, threatening the local economy, environment and communities.

Political activity is now picking up, and we need to make sure our concerns are heard. Fiona Gilmore of Snape has used her influence to invite a party, from the Department of Business & Energy (BEIS) and senior executives from National Grid, to tour our immediate area in connection with the proposed infrastructure projects. She will also introduce them to local business leaders in Aldeburgh, and to Harry Young of Snape Maltings, who will highlight the threats to local tourism.

So we need to get as many people at our Protest as possible — please speak to your friends and contacts and mobilise the people of Snape! It will be at the same place as usual, that is at the lay-by on the north side of the A1094, just by Snape church. For safety reasons, please ensure sight-lines from the junction are not obscured, that everyone wears a hi-vis jacket (I can supply if you haven't got one) and that you stand back from the actual parking area.
ACTION REQUESTED
1) Save the date
2) Mobilise your friends
3) Let me know who is coming
This may be our last chance to influence the Government on this, so a strong community showing would be of great benefit.
Many thanks,
