UPDATED ON THURSDAY 11th FEBRUARY
—
Following this week’s severe weather, which led to the cancellation of all refuse collections in the district, East Suffolk Norse will resume collections on Monday 15th February. ‘Catch up’ collections will be taking place and, during these, bagged side-waste will be accepted.
Collection days will remain the same, however the particular bin being emptied may be different for the next two weeks, to ensure all outstanding collections are completed. There will be double collections on some days. …
Your blue bin collection was missed this week commencing 8th February —
Wednesday, 17th February — on your normal collection day:
Black/grey bin collection (no side-waste) — NORMAL SERVICE
Blue bin collection (side-waste accepted) — CATCH UP SERVICE
Wednesday, 24th February — on your normal collection day:
Blue bin collection only (no side-waste) — NORMAL SERVICE
These collections are subject to the weather conditions. All collections will return to the normal schedule from 1st March.
To enable crews to focus solely on the general household waste and recycling collections, garden-waste collections will be suspended for two weeks, and will resume on Monday 1st March — [so, for Snape, on Wednesday 10th]. This means that some households will unfortunately miss two scheduled garden-waste collections. ... We apologise for any inconvenience this causes — however, the clearing of normal waste and recycling during this difficult period is our priority.

Households in East Suffolk are being reminded to follow bin guidelines. …
Cllr James Mallinder, Cabinet Member for the Environment, said, “With more people spending time at home due to national restrictions, we’re seeing more household waste than ever before, putting added pressure on our refuse teams. Unfortunately, we’re also seeing an increase in bad bin-etiquette, which can not only prevent the refuse team from collecting waste, but be a nuisance to neighbours and obstruct footpaths.
“Our refuse teams are working extremely hard under very difficult circumstances, so it is very important that we all do our bit to help them provide this essential service, that we’re all relying on more than ever, and there are some very simple guidelines we can all follow to do so.” …
— Put bins out by 6am latest on collection day
— Recycle where possible through the blue bin
— Present bin at the boundary of your property where your access meets the public highway or other agreed collection point
— Don’t force too much waste into a bin as it can stick inside, meaning it won’t come out when emptied
— Ensure bins do not contain any incorrect items, as it may not be emptied
— Ensure the lid on bins are closed for collections, otherwise we won’t be able to empty it
