What a beautiful morning we had today at the Village Hall! The weather was lovely so we were able to put the gazebos out and enjoy the Coffee Morning outside. There was a table missing of some local residents sadly (due to a funeral), however this didn't deter everyone enjoying themselves, and the weather — not too hot!
A big thanks to Geraldine who donated a huge amount of freshly cut flowers which were sold almost immediately. Again, our volunteers stepped up to help create a fun morning. Thanks to Anita for taking on the tea and coffees.
Whilst we are still hoping to find a caretaker, Peter and Janet Bunn have stepped in to help manage the hall, which we are very grateful for.
The Coffee Morning made £235.30 to go towards the maintenance of the hall. All donations are much appreciated!!
Our next big event is our 100th birthday on the 26th July — see our blog about it.
The next Coffee Morning is on the 14th August.
We look forward to seeing everyone then.
All donations to the raffle and bric-a-brac are very much appreciated.

Our June Coffee Morning brought sun, but plenty of wind so we couldn't use the gazebos. Fingers crossed for July's Coffee Morning — and certainly for our 100th birthday party on the 26th July!!
We again had a wonderful array of raffle prizes, and some wonderful donations for the bric-a-brac-table — thank you to everyone for their donations. Our volunteers work so hard to make this event fun and full of chat around the tables.
We are still looking for a caretaker to undertake a few hours a week — paid of course. Please do contact us if you are interested.
We took £202.50!!! £74 of that was from Mel's bric-a-brac table — just shows what lovely things there are to pick up.

Our Coffee Morning today fell on VE-Day, which we celebrated VE day. The hall was decorated with bunting and mini-cakes were on offer, which were enjoyed. Our raffle table was, once again, full of lovely gifts. We do thank everyone for their generous support and donations. We are always amazed by the monies raised via Mel's bric-a-brac table. Always full of wonderful, and useful items we just all need — £87 was taken on bric a brac alone. The whole morning took £214.60.
I would like to thank The Crown for hosting our sales of knitted Easter kittens and for their generous donation to the hall. Mary, well done for all that knitting!! The hall always looks well looked after with wonderful hanging baskets — all down to Janet Bunn — a huge thank you!
Unfortunately we are losing our caretaker, Lee. He is heading to new pastures in Devon. He will be greatly missed and thank him for his hard work. We are now looking for someone to take this role on. It amounts to just a few hours a week. If you are interested please do contact me via the village hall website.
A date for your diary: 26th July 2pm - 6pm is our 100th birthday party. Lots of things going on for children and adults. Bar and BBQ available, face-painting, bottle tombola and lots more. Look out for our posters. Everyone is welcome!!!
Our next Coffee Morning is on 12th June, 10:00am to 11:30.

The monthly coffee mornings continue to be well supported which is brilliant! Thank you all for coming to join us, and a huge thank-you to all the volunteers who make it happen! It was a lovely morning, despite a few regulars missing, but we also had some new guests which was great.
Our youngest helper Blossom, aged 2, stole the show as usual!! Bless her! The raffle table was full and if you were lucky enough to have a pink ticket then Blossom was on your side. She likes to help and draw the first ticket out of the basket! Thank you to everyone who donates raffle prizes, bric-a-brac and books, not forgetting the beautiful flowers — thank you, Geraldine! We took £229 to support the upkeep of the hall.
In addition we had a visit from Beccy Seager, Dementia advisor for the Alzheimer’s Society to talk about a pilot service which is starting up at Saxmundham HC and the Peninsula Practice — working to support patients who may have memory concerns. There will also be a drop-in at Aldeburgh hospital [and also at Saxmundham Library — Webmaster]. Beccy provided information and leaflets which were really helpful. [The leaflet can be downloaded from here.] It’s good to know we have that service available in the area.
Our next gathering will be on Thursday, May 8th at 10:00am.
We look forward to seeing you then.

We had a vibrant morning on 13th March. We welcomed a rambling group of 14 who were keen to come along to support community events. It was absolutely lovely to have new faces who engaged with the morning and enjoyed the conversations with residents. It also bought together two 'old' friends who had lost touch over the years, which was unexpected and now able to reconnect.
As usual we had a wonderful array of raffle prizes — thanks to Mary, Geraldine and others. Thanks too to two people (having seen Mel's post) who contacted with more bric-a-brac.
There was some sad news however. Caroline Beach announced the sad passing of Stella Olding and Pauline Kerridge. Both were very much part of the village and supporters of the village hall. They will be very much missed!!
Our morning made £215 which, as usual, goes towards all activities for the hall.
The next coffee morning is on the 10th April. Do come along and enjoy a warm and inviting morning.

As usual, the Coffee Morning on 13th February was well attended, with some new faces coming to enjoy the company of others. We were also joined by Sue Merton from Healthwatch Suffolk. Sue came to speak to, and listen to, the local community about their experiences of the NHS or care services. This was well received by Snape residents who had good, and not so good, experiences of the services. The feedback given to Sue gives an overview of issues that will be fed back to those services.
As always, the support from volunteers ensured everyone got to enjoy the morning — and, of course, the wonderful raffle prizes. Our thanks go to those who volunteer their time, and those that donate to the Bric-a-brac stall and Raffle. It means so much to us.
£162 was made to go towards the hall and projects being considered. Thanks to all for their generosity.

Happy New Year to all. The January 2025 Coffee Morning commenced with a bright sunny day, although very cold. Fortunately, the new elements for the heaters arrived and were replaced — now a cosy hall!
Lots of people turned out in spite of the cold, and as usual the hall was buzzing with conversations, silenced only by the raffle caller (thanks Caroline) to whom we are very grateful. Thanks to all the generous helpers and donations to the Raffle, that made our morning such a success and helps towards the running of the hall. Proceeds of the morning were £137.
We hope to see you all next month on February 13th at 10:00am.
