Priory Wood is one of Snape’s precious public spaces, always open to residents and visitors. It is fenced and gated only to keep out rabbits, which can cause serious damage to young trees.

In 2005 the land was leased and newly planted with native species by the Snape Woodland Group, which has now disbanded.  Their legacy is carried on by Snape Parish Council, who have taken over the lease, and by GreenSnape volunteers, who work with the Parish Council to manage and maintain the woodland for people and wildlife.

We are grateful to Mr John Poll for leasing the land at a token rent for the benefit of the village.

If you'd like to help look after Priory Wood, just contact GreenSnape through either of the Secretaries.

Though the Parish Council supports the website and pays for its provision, it may not always reflect the Council's views
