Dear all,
Today is the Bank Holiday to mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day. War wasn't completely over until after VJ Day, which is in mid-August in three months' time. I guess some of you will be enjoying a picnic in the garden later in the day. There are some telly programmes to mark the occasion, and I believe that some will mark the occasion at 11am with a time of silence. I have also found a programme on BBC2 earlier in the week worth watching — you can still see it if you use iPlayer — Britain's Greatest Generation.
The Service video we have made includes a time of silence marked in the traditional way. We have involved various people as usual, so thank you to David Mincher the Chair of the local Royal British Legion branch, Hannah and Jo, Bill, Philip Glennon and Brian Boulton — and, of course, yourselves when you join in with the singing.
Have a lovely day, Rachel
