The June coffee morning was really busy with everyone coming to view Brian Boulton’s fantastic photographic display, including children from Snape primary school. We decided to celebrate the Queens birthday early with Brian’s photos setting the scene perfectly with 90 years of Snape history. Joining in our celebrations were 3 of our Snape residents who, like the Queen, have also had their 90th birthdays, which helped to make the morning very special! We allowed them in free of charge to mark the occasion and Kathy Hough very kindly made each of them each a bracelet as a momento. If that wasn’t enough, Stella made a spectacular cake adorned with crowns, Union Jack flags and orchids, which was especially admired by the children. Alison had also made a beautiful sponge cake with strawberry on top which meant there was enough cake for everyone to enjoy a slice, including the children!
Thank you to all our supporters for their donations of raffle prizes and bric a brac and to all those who join us to make the morning a real community event. We made £144 to add to the refurbishment funds!
Last month we added 2 new fan heaters to the kitchen, a new heater in the upstairs room and a new outside light at the back of the hall. This month we are having new flooring fitted in the kitchen and ladies cloakroom thanks to another grant from councillors TJ Haworth-Culf and Maureen Jones to whom we are very grateful. We are also researching a hearing loop system for the hall. The list is endless so keep supporting us.
Many thanks on behalf of the village hall committee.
