For those of you who don’t know, Paul and Kay Readhead are retiring from the world of disco and Master of Ceremonies at the end of the year. For over 20 years now they have been providing music at weddings, parties and various fundraising events in the area and beyond. They have regularly hosted the Snape Village Fun day and the Alde Valley classic car rally helping to raise thousands for local charities. Their generosity and support has been amazing. Snape Village Hall was fortunate to host the last village disco/Christmas Party with Paul and Kay at the helm and what a night it was! The weather was foul but it didn’t stop people travelling from all over to help celebrate. It was a fantastic evening. The hall was packed with both young and not so young dancing the night away. Eddie and Sally’s granddaughter Olive stole the show with some special ‘strictly’ moves, she was a star until her bedtime beckoned! It was lovely to see so many familiar faces as well as some new ones. It was a pleasure to welcome a few new residents to Snape.
Paul and Kay put on a brilliant show as always. As a token of our appreciation on behalf of the Village Hall, Snape Playing Field, Parish Council, Royal British Legion and the Church, Tim and Eddie presented Kay with a beautiful bunch of flowers and a voucher for them both for a night out at the Riverside. They will be much missed! Thank you to everyone who joined in the celebrations and provided raffle prizes, especially Snape Maltings for the concert tickets and Friday Street Farm Shop for the bag of goodies. Paul and Kay also donated 2 of their special polo shirts which were auctioned and made £50! The bidding was fierce but Nigel scooped the prize! Thank you! We had a brilliant evening and raised £600 for the village hall! We wish Paul and Kay a very happy retirement and wish them every success in their next endeavours, especially the village Speedwatch!
