Local twins take over second premise, The Golden Key in Snape, on the 19th June.
Alex and Oliver Burnside are twin brothers who have worked together in the hospitality trade for over fifteen years. This year marks five years since they took over the leasehold of The Plough and Sail in Snape. Celebrating local, seasonal produce and playing a central role in the local community is key to their ethos and they believe strongly that they can replicate this and build upon it at The Golden Key.
Alex says, ‘We aim to establish a popular country dining pub with a reputation for great
food, a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere and exceptional service. We will use fantastic local ingredients and bring them together to create traditional ‘pub’ dishes done well.’
Oliver says, ‘We will concentrate on ‘traditional pub food dining’, offering customers a range of dishes with a high percentage of ingredients from the local area. We value the importance of ‘Food Miles’ and the origin of foods; hence we will try to use locally sourced suppliers for ingredients to help towards our high standard of cooking and presentation.’
The pub / bar side of our business will be run in a traditional manner, offering customers a vast range of draught and bottled lagers and ales, spirits and soft drinks and bar snacks. A comprehensive wine list will also be offered
that will be economically accessible to all.
‘We are delighted to be taking on The Golden Key. It is such a fantastic opportunity for us to further demonstrate our skills and passion for food and drink. We look forward to making The Golden Key a great success,’ Alex and Oliver conclude.
