Sixteen GreenSnape volunteers spent an energetic and rewarding afternoon in late February at Snape School, getting the veg garden ready for the coming growing season. We started off with a charming tour of the wilder area of the school grounds, led by two of the pupils. They were clearly very proud of their school and all of the green activities that they are enjoying.
After that it was all hands to the forks and spades to clear the veg beds. We also fixed the polytunnel door and made the inside much less dusty by laying astroturf and slabs. A new log seating area and a facelift for the existing one completed a lovely afternoon.
We love our close association with the school and it’s great to be appreciated by the staff and pupils.
