GreenSnape’s petition opposing Snape Maltings’ proposal for a giant car park on the grazing marsh north of the river has gone from strength to strength, with over 1450 signatures since its launch. Over 300 Snape residents, an incredible 61.5% of the electoral roll, have signed. A great result. The petition response was backed up by the parish council’s survey in which just over 100 residents stated their opposition to Snape Maltings’ car park proposal.
This all helped to ensure a huge turnout at the 18th April public meeting in the village hall. The petition, survey results and unanimous view of those present ensured that the parish council agreed to send Snape Maltings a letter stating their opposition to the giant car park proposal.
GreenSnape will continue to work for Snape residents to formulate a sensible and measured response to Snape Maltings’ plans.
